During the last few days of 2023, in a year filled with economic uncertainty amid financial sector turmoil, high interest rates, persistent inflation, geopolitical instabilityas well as the lingering effects of dealing with three years of COVID-19, Canadian Dental Services Corporation (CDS) still marched forward with unwavering determination. The expanding dental support organization (DSO) added Davis Orthodontics with 13 branded clinics around the Greater Toronto Area to its multi-provincial network across Canada. I had the personal pleasure of working directly with Jeremy D. Behar, the Founder & CEO of Canadian Dental Services Corporation for 5 years when I first got into the dental services industry back in 2012. Hardly anyone in Canada knew back then what the acronym DSO stood for.I continue to witness the consistent year-over-year growth of Jeremy's companies 12 years later.“For the past 50+ years, and initially under the leadership of my father Allan, our team has been laser-focused on doing the very best for our patients, and by doing so, we have been well rewarded by communities all across Southern Ontario. As we plan out the next chapter in Davis Ortho’s evolution, we couldn’t have picked a more disciplined operator, or more like-minded partner in Canada than CDS to entrust with our future. The below-the-radar approach to their work, their relentless dedication to moving each of their clinics forward, and their true vision for pushing their clinics to always do what’s best for the patient aligns with ours at Davis, and we believe it’s a winning combination. We’re ready and excited for the upcoming collaboration opportunities between each of our organization’s expertise and the multiplier of value that this will bring to our patients all across Canada…”says Dr. Kevin Davis, Chief Executive Officer of Davis Orthodontics.Effective immediately, Dr. Kevin Davis will join the CDS Senior Leadership Team as Chief Clinical Officer.👇 To learn more, click the link in the first comment below this post._____🔔 In addition to my company helping multi-site dental service provider organizations with revenue cycle management and artificial intelligence technology innovation, I share news as well as insights about the field of dentistry on a daily basis. Locating your new dental practice next to complementary health services matters more than you think (here’s how):Strategic placement can drastically boost your practice's success. By positioning your dental office near complementary health services, you create a healthcare hub that benefits both patients and providers. Some complementary practices include:➤ Oral surgeons➤ Pediatricians➤ Periodontists➤ General or family doctors➤ Nutritionists➤ Imaging centers➤ ENT specialists➤ Pharmacies➤ Urgent care centersHow it works:1. Increased foot traffic: Patients visiting nearby medical offices may spot your practice.2. Referral networks: Build relationships with nearby healthcare providers for mutual patient referrals.3. Convenience: Patients appreciate one-stop healthcare destinations. 4. Shared resources: Explore opportunities to split costs on common areas or equipment with neighboring practices.5. Enhanced credibility: Association with other reputable healthcare providers can elevate your practice's perceived expertise. When scouting locations for your new dental practice, consider the symbiotic relationships you can create with nearby healthcare services.…P.S. 🦷 5 Trends that will Impact Dental Practice Transitions 🦷From economic shifts to staffing challenges, these trends are set to reshape dental practice transitions. Let's explore how they'll impact both buyers and sellers:Trend #1: Economic Outlook 📈🔹 As we navigate through 2024, the economy's trajectory remains uncertain. While indicators suggest a potential rebound in the latter half of the year, the impact of the election looms large. Despite this, dental practice ownership continues to be a solid investment, offering financial stability and a means to pay off student debt.Trend #2: Persistent Staffing Shortages 🛑🔸 Staffing remains a pressing issue for dental practices. Buyers need to understand the importance of retaining staff, as they play a significant role in patient interactions. Sellers, on the other hand, must prioritize staff retention during transitions to maintain goodwill.Trend #3: DSOs and Doctor-to-Doctor Transitions 💼🔹 DSOs remain a prominent player in the dental landscape, but economic conditions may prompt them to be more selective. This could create opportunities for individual dentists to pursue practice acquisitions. Additionally, doctor-to-doctor transitions continue to be a viable option for practice ownership.Trend #4: Declining PPO Participation 💰🔸 Decreased participation in PPO plans is on the horizon for 2024. Many dentists are opting out due to lowered fees and reimbursement hurdles. While this may result in some patient attrition, clear communication can help mitigate concerns and maintain patient relationships.Trend #5: Advisor Expertise is Key 🤝🔹 In an ever-evolving landscape, having a knowledgeable advisory team is essential. Whether buying or selling, having experts in law, finance, lending, and dental practice transitions can streamline the process and ensure informed decision-making.Navigating these trends requires careful consideration and strategic planning. By staying informed and leveraging expert guidance, dental professionals can navigate transitions effectively in 2024 and beyond. #DentalTransitions #IndustryTrends #ExpertAdvisors

💡 Exciting News for Canadians! Introducing the New Canadian Dental Care Plan (CDCP) - a game-changer in oral health coverage. 🦷The CDCP, a federally funded initiative, aims to provide dental benefits to residents without existing coverage and a household income under $90,000 yearly. Starting in May 2024, the plan offers different coverage dates depending on individual circumstances. However, it's crucial to note that patients will be responsible for a co-payment, based on their adjusted family net income. Those earning under $70,000 annually won't have to make any co-payment, while individuals with an adjusted income between $70,000 and $79,999 are required to pay a 40% co-payment. Lastly, individuals earning between $80,000 and $89,999 will have a 60% co-payment.Remember, the CDCP is a government dental benefit, not a free program. Although Health Canada encourages dentists to follow the CDCP fee schedule, they can still charge their customary fees. Before booking an appointment, patients are advised to confirm the fees with their dentist.Spread the word and stay tuned for more updates on this exciting advancement in dental care! 🌟 #CDCP #DentalCarePlan #OralHealthCoverage #DentalBenefits #HealthCanada#Nasserdentistry

The uptick that we’re seeing in market activity is being driven, in part, through newer opportunities, including new emerging buyers, as well as reignited transactional activity that was delayed or paused. We expect this to continue throughout the rest of this year and into 2025.Read more about our in-depth analysis of the market in our ‘Dental Market Review 2024’ below. To ensure comprehensive dental care for residents of all ages in Singapore, NUCOHS has introduced the General Dental Practitioner Network (NUCOHS – GDP Network) as of January 2024. This network integrates General Dental Practitioners (GDPs) into the nation's dental care ecosystem to support patients whose oral health conditions have stabilised and no longer require tertiary level care at NUCOHS.The NUCOHS – GDP Network enables existing NUCOHS patients to choose a participating GDP for regular follow-up and maintenance of their oral health. This initiative aims to facilitate a smooth transition for patients to a nearby GDP, enhancing convenience by reducing travel time while ensuring continued access to high quality care.𝙊𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙧 𝙧𝙚𝙥𝙤𝙧𝙩𝙨: 𝐇𝐞𝐚𝐥𝐭𝐡𝐜𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐀𝐬𝐢𝐚, 𝐍𝐔𝐂𝐎𝐇𝐒 𝐫𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐚𝐥𝐬 𝐢𝐧𝐧𝐨𝐯𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐩𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐬 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐥 𝐜𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐠𝐡 𝐝𝐢𝐠𝐢𝐭𝐚𝐥 𝐭𝐞𝐜𝐡𝐧𝐨𝐥𝐨𝐠𝐲https://lnkd.in/gFmTfks9𝐒𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐚𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐞 𝐁𝐮𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐑𝐞𝐯𝐢𝐞𝐰, 𝐍𝐔𝐂𝐎𝐇𝐒 𝐫𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐚𝐥𝐬 𝐢𝐧𝐧𝐨𝐯𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐩𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐬 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐥 𝐜𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐠𝐡 𝐝𝐢𝐠𝐢𝐭𝐚𝐥 𝐭𝐞𝐜𝐡𝐧𝐨𝐥𝐨𝐠𝐲https://lnkd.in/gTZgUETE#NUCOHS5 #NUCOHSGDPNetwork
